Our beautiful Single Smugglers Wall Light has a simple elegance and period detailing that is the very essence of country modern living and will look wonderful on the walls of any kitchen, dining room, bedroom or hallway. Hand forged from high quality steel that is painted in old gold for a deep, luxurious look, it has a wonderful, weighty quality that befits its handmade nature and its dainty proportions make it ideal for use in any home, whether period or modern.
Our take on a classic design, the Smugglers features generous drip trays and strap detailing on the backplate which harks back to the leather straps that were used to hold candle sconces in cottages and inns during Georgian times. All our lights are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the very highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop.
- This is a flush fitting light so you may need to use an architrave box and reducer lid behind the backplate to hide the wiring if you cannot make a cavity in your wall - see Our Backplates Explained.
- We recommend our LED Clear Candle Bulb as the perfect accompaniment to your light as it is designed to replicate the traditional look of an incandescent bulb, lights up instantly, is dimmable and will flood your room with a soft warm light.
- The Single Smugglers is not supplied with shades but we have a huge collection of handmade candle clip shades in a multitude of colours to find your perfect match.

Lighting Your Home How To Care For Painted Products Finish
Old Gold: Our Old Gold is a beautiful, dull, old gold powder paint that is applied on top of layers of black paint to give it a dark, matt tone. It is then heated in a powder coating process to produce a smooth resilient finish which is then gently antiqued by hand to give it a richer, deeper look that will bring a subtle touch of luxury to any traditional or contemporary setting.
