DESCRIPTION The Left Side Mistley Door Latch is a neat little latch with an architectural feel for traditional kitchen cupboard, pantry and ledge and brace doors. Ledge and brace doors are typically found in older homes that don't have doors with standard (inset) mortice latch sets. The Mistley is made from milled steel and features a sliding bolt, antiqued brass keep and a pair of antiqued brass knobs that bring a touch of heritage style to your home.Shown above in our beeswax finish for a soft, black, rustic appearance that suits modern and traditional interiors, the latch set comes supplied with a spindle, fixing screws in the same finish and a pair of antiqued brass door knobs. This latch is for left handed doors, where the hinges are on the left. We also make a right handed version for doors where the hinges are on the right. For more information, see our guide - Do I Need a Left or Right Side Handle? For matching accessories, see our Suffolk range of metal fittings including Suffolk pull handes, hinges and fireside companion sets. Kindly note, we do not recommend the beeswax finish for use outdoors or in a humid environment, as it is harder to maintain and may rust. We feel Matt Black is a preferable option. PRODUCT INFORMATION Dimensions: 12W x 10H x 2.5D (cms)How to Clean Beeswax FINISH Beeswax: A traditional metalworking technique used since Tudor times to give a rustic, soft black finish. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives it a lovely soft black wrought iron effect that looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre. It is not waterproof, so will need to be re-waxed occasionally.
