DESCRIPTION A new addition to our extended family of Hanson wall lights, this clever, new, antiqued brass wall sconce is designed with a single swing arm that enables you to move the light where you need it. The Hanson Library Light is one of our daintier designs with a narrow, deep, rectangular backplate that is ideal for fitting onto shelves, storage units or brightening up those dark nooks and crannies. The Hanson lends itself to any sized wall, looking elegant on its own in a small space, or fitted either side of a bed, dressing table or above a desk or your favourite armchair for additional reading light. It is also available with a pull cord so it can be switched on/off without the need for wall switches. The light is made from forged iron that is traditionally beeswaxed for a soft black appearance. Pair it with one of our classic or tapered candle clip shades for a traditional touch or leave it with a bare bulb for a more up-to-date, industrial feel. We recommend our SBC Candle LED Filament Bulb as the perfect companion for your light because it lights to full strength instantly, will flood your room with a soft warm light, is dimmable and has a lumen (brightness) that is equivalent to a 40W regular bulb. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives it a lovely soft black wrought iron effect that looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre. It is not waterproof, so will need to be re-waxed occasionally.
