Shown above in our beeswax finish, the Fordham is traditionally handcrafted at our Suffolk workshop from high quality forged iron that is traditionally beeswaxed for a subtle, aged look that will feel equally at home in a modern room as a period one. All Jim Lawrence products are made using traditional metal working techniques and are finished to the highest standards at our workshop. The Fordham is 10.1cm x W and 3.1cm x D to the bottom of the cable grip cap. It is available in a choice of finishes and with matching fixing screws to ensure you get the right look for your room. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives is a lovely soft black wrought iron effect which looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre. It is not waterproof, so will need to be rewaxed occasionally.
