DESCRIPTION A useful 2 gang brass surface mounting box to conceal your electrical wiring where it is not practical, or possible, to create a cavity in a wall or beam. This box is lightly antiqued and finished to match our range of electrical switch and socket plates. In order to retain a clean look our switch and socket designs have a flush fitting back plate enabling them to sit neatly up against the wall. However, in order to achieve this, the plastic connector box will need to be housed within a cavity in the wall as there is physically no room within the switch plate itself. This means that if you do not already have such a cavity, you need to consult a qualified electrician about fitting a mounting box into your wall. This is generally not a problem if you have plasterboard walls but may be more difficult if they are solid brick or lath and plaster. Product Information Dimensions: 14.6W x 8.6H x 4.2D (cm) Knowledge Base Guides Everything you need to know about switches and sockets Our guide to dimmer switches How to wire switches and sockets Finish Antique Brass: A beautiful, natural finish produced by distressing the brass to create a soft patina that is then treated with antiquing solution to speed up the natural tarnishing process and create a lovely aged look that will darken naturally over time. Antiqued Brass is an incredibly versatile finish that works well with any colourway and natural building materials such as brick, stone, plaster or woodwork and looks equally at home in a modern property as it does a period one.
