The Chiltern is a handcrafted, forged iron wall sconce with a beautiful bold design that has something of an Art Deco look about it. Mid century lighting is making a huge comeback as it is the perfect way to add a little character to a room while keeping your styling simple. With its concetric rectangles on the back plate, cylindrical glass shade and elegant swan neck shade arm, the Chiltern has a contemporary appeal that suits a modern kitchen or open plan living room where it will add lovely layers of light to your scheme.
The beauty of glass is that it reflects light everywhere, making the most of any natural light without encroaching on the sense of space in a room. Glass wall lights are perfect for making a narrow hallway appear wider and a room with a low ceiling larger. This Chiltern is made from high grade forged iron that has been beeswaxed for a traditional, rustic appearance. All Jim Lawrence products are handcrafted from the best natural brass or forged iron and made using traditional metalworking techniques at our Suffolk workshops. We recommend our
SBC Candle LED Filament Bulb as the perfect partner for your Chiltern as it has the look of an incandescent bulb, is dimmable, lights up to full strength immediately, is energy efficient and cost effective.

FINISH: BEESWAX - A traditional metalworking technique used since Tudor times. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives it a lovely soft black wrought iron effect that looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre. It is not waterproof, so will need to be re-waxed occasionally.
