DESCRIPTION Our stunning Bromley Door Handle range takes its inspiration from a heritage of great British design, incorporating traditional ribbed detailing with the best modern materials and handcrafted skills to produce a great quality handle that will look fabulous for years to come. The Bromley is a classic handle available in a variety of back plate styles and our forged iron and antiqued brass finishes to ensure it suits any style of door. The Bristol back plate has straight, bevelled edges that gives it clean lines; perfect for a contemporary feel to your door. All Jim Lawrence products are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the very highest standards at our Suffolk workshop. This Bromley is made from high quality forged iron finished in beeswax for a soft black, wrought iron look, and has a wonderful weighty quality that befits its handmade nature. The handles are supplied as a pair with back plates and fixing screws in the same finish. They are sprung on both sides and with a 75mm spindle that can be cut down to the depth of your door. We can supply a 90mm spindle upon request. Kindly note: We do not recommend our beeswax finish for bathrooms or outdoor use as it may rust in a humid environment. Instead, we suggest Matt Black. Beeswaxing is a traditional technique used since Tudor times. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives is a lovely soft black wrought iron effect which looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre. It is not waterproof and will need to be rewaxed occasionally. DOOR HANDLES FAQ DO YOUR HANDLES COME IN PAIRS? Yes, all our mortice lever and knob handles come as a pair and are supplied with a spindle and the backplate of your choice. Our lever handles are sprung on both sides. The knob handles are sprung on one side. ARE YOUR HANDLES SPRUNG? Our lever handles are sre sprung on both sides of the collar assembly to allow them to spring back into place after they has been pulled down.Knob handles have a turning mechanism rather than a lever one so they only require being sprung on one side. CAN I GET A LONGER SPINDLE? All our door handles are supplied with a standard length spingle that is 7.5cm long (7.5mm wide) and can be cut down to the depth of your door. We can supply a 9cm length spindle upon request. Our Rim Locks come with a longer spindle that is 12cm in length. A 13cm spingle can abe supplied upon request DO YOU DO BESPOKE MODIFICATIONS? You can opt for different style handles on each side of the door as long as they are both knob or both lever handles.
