DESCRIPTION Our best selling, forged iron button finials are the perfect companion for your Jim Lawrence curtain poles. Shown above in our traditional beeswax finish, they will lend an air of rustic charm to your interior and give a classic finish to your window dressing. The finials are designed to slide into the ends of a 20mm pole and are made from high quality steel that is dipped in hot beeswax for a soft black appearance that will look equally at home in any period or contemporary setting. All Jim Lawrence products are made using traditional metal working techniques that have been handed down through the generations and are hand finished to the highest standards at our Suffolk workshops. The finials form part of our stunning collection of curtain pole accessories including centre and recessed brackets, rings and a wide range of lovely finials to personalise your look. Once fitted inside the pole, the finials are fixed in place with a tiny grub screw that is located at each end at the back of the pole.We do not recommend the beeswax finish for use in a humid environment, as it is harder to maintain and may rust. We feel that Matt Black is the preferable option. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives it a lovely soft black wrought iron effect that looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre. It is not waterproof, so will need to be re-waxed occasionally. For more information, see our Product Finishes page. HOW MANY CURTAIN RINGS DO I NEED? We generally recommend using 1 ring per 8 -10cm of pole but this will depend on the type of curtain heading you would like and the thickness of your curtains. We suggest 1 ring per 8cm of pole for our pencil pleat and cottage pleat headings Our roman blinds, tailored and pinch pleat curtains will have fixed hooks that determine the number of rings that are needed. These are generally spaced 10cm apart
