A portiere is designed with a swivel bracket that attaches to the door frame (or wall) at one end, and a support bracket on the back of the door at the other, so the rod moves with the door. Our 12mm button-ended portieres are handcrafted from high-quality forged iron painted Matt Black and can be made to any length up to 1.2m. If space allows, we recommend making your rod longer than the width of your doorframe to cover the crack where the door meets the frame. For more information and measuring help, read our handy Guide to Portieres.''Discover 3 Easy Ways to Banish Draughts on the Jim Lawrence blog.HANDCRAFTED QUALITY AND CUSTOM SIZINGAll Jim Lawrence products are hand-finished using traditional metalworking techniques in our Suffolk workshop.
