This plug socket combines a 1 gang, 13 amp switched, slimline design with black inserts and antique brass rocker switch to create a simple sleek look to suit modern and traditional homes. All our sockets are hand forged from high grade brass or steel and sit flush against the wall, with a raised bevelled or hammered edge for a decorative touch to suit any interior. All Jim Lawrence switches and sockets are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the very highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives is a lovely soft black wrought iron effect which looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre.
