There may also be variations in tone or weave which are characteristic of pure silk but not to everyone's taste, especially if you are after a more uniform look. As a raw fabric, fading and deterioration may occur over time, especially in sunlight and is more noticeable in darker colours, so we do not recommend you use silk dupion for lampshades in or near a window.
