Our dolly (toggle) switch plates are all made with a slimline brass or steel backplate that sits flush against the wall and have straight bevelled edges for sleek, modern appeal.Intermediate switches enable you to operate your lights from 3 locations, such as on a landing, as well as at the top and bottom of the stairs, or from either side of a bed as well as by the door in a bedroom. Intermediate switches are ideal for rooms with multiple entrances. All Jim Lawrence products are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the very highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop. Kindly note: We don't recommend using beeswax in a humid enironment as it is not waterproof and will need regular rewaxing to prevent it from rusting. We suggest matt black is a better option. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives is a lovely soft black wrought iron effect which looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre. Yes our switches and can be used with smart bulbs. Just leave them switched on so the bulbs can be controlled remotelyvia the internet and wifi. WILL THEY WORK IN THE USA? No, the USA uses a different electrical current with a much lower voltage than the UK so our switches will not work. We can make many of our lights suitable for United States domestic applications, but they are not, as standard, UL approved for use in commercial and public installations.
