The Mia is little sister to our Ava and Orla lights which we have tweaked to create a smaller version for your walls. We feel it is a contemporary classic which will suit a modern room as much as a period setting and will work as hard as a tasking light as it does to create a lovely ambient mood in any room in your home. This Mia is hand forged from solid, high quality steel that has been beeswaxed for a soft black look and has a wonderful, weighty quality that befits its handmade nature.

All Jim Lawrence lights are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the very highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop. We recommend our LED Clear Candle Bulbas the perfect accompaniment to your light as it replicates the traditional look of an incandescent bulb and will flood your room with a soft warm light. It lights up to full strength instantly, is dimmable and has a lumens (brightness) that is equivalent to a 40W regular bulb.

Please note this glass is a natural resource and as each piece is individually handmade slight imperfections may occasionally occur such as ripples and small bubbles.

Beeswax: A traditional technique used since Tudor times. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives is a lovely soft black wrought iron effect which looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre.To find out more about our finishes and how best to maintain them, please read our Product Finish pages.
