DESCRIPTION In a first for Jim Lawrence, we have designed some exceptionally neat 12mm brass Recess Cup brackets for housing your 12mm brass cafe rods in a window recess. These clever little brackets screw directly into the wall at either side of your window and the pole sits in them, held in place by a grub screw. They make a nifty alternative to traditional recess brackets and are the perfect companion for your 12mm brass cafe rods ensuring they will look fabulous wherever they are fitted. Cafe curtain rods make a wonderfully stylish alternative to traditional net curtains and shutters as they enable you to add a more decorative touch to your window dressing, while ensuring you have privacy without blocking out all the light. The Recess Cup brackets are handcrafted from natural, unlacquered brass that is traditionally finished in our antiqued brass for a subtle, aged appeal. Use these brackets in conjunction with our 12mm brass pole and curtain rings. When measuring for your pole, please take off 1cm (0.5cm at each end) to allow for the thickness of the fixing plate. We recommend our range of beautiful, lightweight voiles as the perfect fabric for your cafe rods, or for a slighty thicker weave, our collection of luxuriously soft linens. Made from: brassSuitability: for use with our 12mm brass polesDimensions: 3H x 3W x 2D (cms)Finish: Antiqued Brass - produced by distressing the brass to create a soft patina that is then treated with antiquing solution to speed up the natural tarnishing process and create a lovely, aged look that will darken naturally over time for more information about our finishes see our Product Finishes page and How to Clean Brass & Copper. KNOWLEDGE BASE GUIDES How to Measure For a Curtain Pole How to Measure for Curtains FAQS DO I NEED A CENTRE BRACKET? 12mm Brass Poles - the maximum length we would recommend without using a central bracket is 150cm WHAT DO I NEED FOR A RECESSED WINDOW? If your cafe rod is side fitting, ie fixed to the side walls within a window recess, you will need to use either the 12mm Recessed Brackets or Recess Cup Brackets. If your rod is front fitting over the window, you can use our 12mm Sleeve Brackets with the 12mm Button Finials, or our 12mm Capped End Sleeve Brackets WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM LENGTH I CAN HAVE? The maximum length of 12mm brass pole we recommend for a cafe rod is 150cm. This ensures your cafe curtain fits fully across the length of the rod. As these rods are custom made, you can have them cut to any length, but we recommend using a 12mm Sleeve Bracket as a centre bracket if over 150cm. This means your curtain will not hang across the full length of the rod but will meet at the bracket in the middle. WHAT FABRIC SHOULD I USE? You can use any type of curtain fabric, but cafe rods are primarily designed with lightweight fabrics like voiles, nets or linens in mind, to allow as much light through while affording you some privacy.
