A contemporary take on a traditional oil lamp, our Single Morston Wall Light has become a design classic. With its hand blown glass shade in a choice of clear or fluted styles and simple bevelled backplate, it has a country modern feel that will look equally at home in an industrial style loft conversion or sitting room as it would a country kitchen.
Displaying a generously sized glass shade and simple, unadorned candle tube holder, the Single Morston is an excellent alternative to traditional wall lighting with fabric lampshades. All
Jim Lawrence lights are made using traditional metal working techniques and are hand finished to the very highest standards here at our Suffolk workshop. This Morston has been hand forged from high quality steel and beeswaxed for a soft, black wrought iron look,.
- The shade is included in the price of the light and can be frosted on request.
- We recommend our LED Clear Candle bulb as the best lamp fitting to accompany your light as it has the look of a heritage bulb but with modern energy economy. The bulb lights up to full strength instantly, will flood your room with a soft warm light, is dimmable and has a lumens (brightness) that is equivalent to a 40W regular bulb.
- This is a flush fitting light with a keyhole backplate so will require a wall cavity to house the wiring. For more information, please see our Flush Fitting Lights Explained and Keyhole Fitting Guide.
Please note, this glass is a natural resource and as each piece is individually handmade slight imperfections may occasionally occur such as ripples and small bubbles. PRODUCT INFORMATION

Finish: Beeswax - A traditional technique used since Tudor times. The metal is heated until it darkens and then dipped in natural beeswax which gives is a lovely soft black wrought iron effect which looks fabulous in any traditional or contemporary interior. As beeswax is a natural finish that reacts with the underlying metal during the forging process, it often has a subtle, slightly mottled patina with undertones of deep grey or ochre. To find out more about our finishes and how best to maintain them, please read our
Product Finish pages.
