MAKE A BAY WINDOW TEMPLATE

Step 1 paper tamplate

PREPARE YOUR PAPER TEMPLATE

  • Use something robust like brown paper or wallpaper to make your template. Baking parchment or newspaper is too flimsy and is likely to tear.
  • Push the paper to the back wall or skirting board in your bay window area.
  • Fold in the corners to follow the angles of your wall.

DON'T FORGET TO:

  • Measure at ground level, not at pole or ceiling height.
Step 2 paper template

CUT YOUR TEMPLATE TO SHAPE

  • Start off by cutting away the excess paper to show the angles.
  • Then mark on the template where you would like the finials to begin.
  • Make sure they are clearly marked.

DON'T FORGET TO

  • Mark your template ‘This Way Up’ to help our team lay it out correctly.
Step 3 paper template

LABEL YOUR TEMPLATE WITH DETAILS

  • Mark on the template where you would like the brackets to be.
  • We will make the necessary allowances for the depth of the bracket from the wall and any window sills, radiators etc that you have advised us of.
  • State on the template whether you have made your template against the wall or a skirting board.
  • If a skirting board, please state on the template the depth of your skirting board from the wall.
  • Please state if you are fitting the brackets to the wall or window frame.
  • It is also helpful if you mark on the template if you intend to hang full length curtains.
