USE GREENS FOR A FRESH, TRANQUIL FEEL

Green is a versatile and refreshing colour that brings a sense of nature and tranquility into an interior. Use green to create a seamless transition between your interior and exterior spaces. Large windows with views of greenery, green-painted patio furniture and indoor plants can help blur the lines between indoors and outdoors, making your home feel more connected to nature that will not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of your room, but also promote well-being and reduces stress.

TOP TIPS FOR DECORATING WITH GREENS

Consider lighting
Natural light enhances lighter shades, making them look fresh and airy, while artificial light deepens darker greens, creating an intimate atmosphere.

Choose the right shade
Think about the room's purpose and the ambiance you want to achieve. Soft mint, sage and vibrant, leafy greens add a refreshing, clean look, while darker greens add depth and sophistication. Mixing different shades will lend complexity to your design so try combining lime or olive greens with deeper tones to make your scheme more interesting and dynamic.

Balance with neutrals
Whites, creams, light greys and beiges complement green beautifully and help create a harmonious look. Start by introducing green through accents using cushions, throws, curtains and blinds to add pops of colour. Layering different textures in neutrals or shades of green also creates a layered and elegant look.

Play with patterns
Use patterns to break up large areas of green. Stripes, florals and geometric designs on soft furnishings make your room more interesting, while and using green in unexpected places is an excellent way to inject a little peronality and delight into your interiors.

Make a statement

Incorporating a bold green statement piece can elevate a room's design, drawing attention and adding depth. Create a green accent wall to serve as a focal point that you can work your other colours around. Ensure the rest of the decor complements, and doesn't compete, with the statement piece to maintain cohesion. Using neutral walls elsewhere helps to keep the overall look balanced and inviting.

Embrace contrasts
Red, pink, and orange are excellent colors for adding excitement and energy to a green-based room.

Drab Green paint dab

COLOUR CONSULTANT EMMA DIAZ SAYS:

"Create a truly heritage look by using Drab Green with your Polished finish. Green is always a popular choice for kitchens and this shade works because it's neither too pale, or too dark. It is a shade of green that is extremely versatile and easy to live with, no matter what the age of your property. Use it all over (including walls) in a pantry with wooden worktops for a really heritage look, or on cabinetry for a brighter, more modern country kitchen feel.
